I did a lot of “second shooting” weddings before opening up my own wedding business. As you look at my portfolio and you like what you see, "you ain't seen nothin' yet!". I simply got fed up with "that's good enough".
Sadly the vast majority of the time I was hired to produce more images. As I started to educate myself and attend workshops, classes, and seminars I discovered that without exception wedding photographers making $10,000 did not use second shooters. They used assistants to create better images, not more images. The prevailing attitude among the lower priced wedding photographers was in so many words: “This is good enough! I'm not making enough to do my best”. That was the net effect of their attitude and actions.
Well here is my attitude: I'm going to give it my all every single wedding. I'm showing up with an assistant and I'm going to shoot a $10,000 wedding every time. Eventually I'll get paid that because I will have a body of work that says I'm worth it. But how in the world does one expect to get there unless first they deliver every ounce of talent and effort they have?
That is my commitment to you. My team and I will deliver every ounce of talent we are capable of regardless of the compensation. It's not about being “good enough”. It's about a commitment to excellence and striving to always improve on that. The compensation will follow soon enough.
